Addressing DV from the Pulpit

gftPastor Orlester Johnson is a past recipient of our Mens DV Advocacy Award.  His commitment to bringing awareness regarding domestic violence is continues to be relevant and appreciated.  I can say that men and women alike have expressed to me the need to have more involvement from the faith based community, and that Pastor Johnson is one of a few that has been consistently open and willing to address  it from the pulpit.
Since receiving the award, Pastor  Johnson has continued to stand against domestic violence and abuse of all forms. Most recently, he hosted the 9th annual Daddy’s Girls Conference for victims of abuse in September 2013. Pastor Johnson sees the growing need for faith-based organizations to play a role  in bringing help, hope, and healing to victims of abuse. He continues to take an active role in encouraging other religious leaders to address the issue with their congregation.
