As we approach Domestic Violence Awareness month, let us be mindful of our words and actions when encouraging victims of abuse to leave an abuser, or shame them because they are being abused. Understanding the cycle of abuse, the reasons men/women stay in unhealthy relationships and providing resources to help them leave safely are just some of the ways we can help to save lives.
